Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen – Located just 25 minutes south of Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen is definitely worth visiting. Its main street, 5th Avenue, is teeming with shops, art galleries, and restaurants. Playa is also home to beautiful beaches and the ferry to reach Cozumel.

Cancun

Villa Caracol is located within easy distance of Cancun airport, a 20 – 30 minute drive and just beyond that is Cancun centro itself.

Cinepolis VIP has large leather recliners, waiters, and restaurants. Most movies are in English with Spanish subtitles. Yak is the finest Bingo you’ll ever play. As numbers are called they light up on giant number boards (convenient for those who are not familiar with Spanish numbers) and every round has several winners. You can also bet on horse and greyhound racing upstairs in the sports bar.

Golf – Whether you brought your clubs along or want to rent some for the day, there are several fine courses available for public play.

Cancun offers a wide range of shopping experiences – from high end designer emporiums to open air markets.

La Isla Shopping Village – This Venetian style, ultra trendy shopping village is filled with stores, galleries, and fabulous restaurants. A series of canals and bridges winds through the village, offering boat trips through the village and out into the lagoon. It also has an interactive aquarium and disco.

Plaza Kukulcán – Indoor mall with around 80 stores. The plaza is most noted for its many cultural events and shows that take place in the main area. It also has a new Luxury Avenue with many top designers.

Plaza Caracol – Cancun’s largest indoor mall houses over 200 shops, boutiques, art galleries, and more.

Forum By The Sea – Glittering three level shopping and entertainment plaza.

Mercado 28 – Popular souvenir/flea market

Ki Huic Market – Houses 100 vendors in Cancun’s oldest crafts market

Arte Popular – Sells and Displays fine folk arts and crafts

Parque de las Palapas — Always a busy place with live entertainment, art shows, etc. There are also lots of eateries/cafes nearby. Every Friday at 7:30 there is a live music show that features a wide range of music, from jazz to Caribbean. Sundays are a great day to take the family.

Casa de Cultura – Hosts local cultural events including art exhibits, dance performances, plays, and concerts

Teatro de Cancun – Presents two shows featuring the music and dance of Mexico and the Caribbean every weeknight.
